Lead Graffiti has added a Miehle V-50 vertical cylinder press to its arsenal of printing options. The press was purchased from Henry Morris of Bird & Bull Press. It prints a 14″ x 20″ sheet, so it will allow us to do volume printing on books up to at least 9″ x 12″ which we hope will offer us some great opportunities as we try to move our efforts more and more toward books.
This shows Tray talking about printing dampened paper on the Miehle. Hmmm. That will be nice.
Henry signing a copy of his type specimen over to Lindsay who bought his metal type collection. One of the highlights of the day was Henry showing us his book of letters mailed with invented stamps, a number of which were postmarked from Sans Serriffe. San Serriffe is one of the great ideas for a book. If you don’t know about it, find a nearby university with a good special collections and check it out.
One more photo of Henry showing us how the press works. It is going to be fun just owning this press.
